Brooke Campbell: Music

White Stone

(Brooke Campbell)
Rev 2:17
Mark 9:24
Romans 3:3
Heb 5:7, 7:25
I submit to you
It's all that I can do
Not just to get me through
But, because you say
You'll be good to me
Better than I can see
You give me what I need
Still, I fear your ways

But, you are not a thoughtless man
So I try to believe
You hold a white stone in your hand
With a secret name for me
boughs break and babies land
in this world we've made
You are ever facing me
and able to save

I go to work each day
Say what I have to say
Good things come my way
but it isn't pure
It's not that way with you
You want to hear the truth
I want to tell it too
But, I'm still not sure
that you are not a thoughtless man
But I want to believe

You hold a white stone in your hand
With a secret name for me
boughs break and babies land
in this world we've made
You are ever facing me
and able to save

I need to know that there's a plot to make it right
Some strong plan
To fight the wicked things that stalk us in the night
Maybe you can
We let each other down so much
We can rarely be sure of where we stand

Are you like us?
Are you different?

Are you not a thoughtless man?
Can I believe
You hold a white stone in your hand
With a secret name for me
Though boughs break and babies land
in this world we've made
that you are ever facing me
and able to save
